We Can Change Our Direction if Enough People Try
Peter has worked with citizen action groups for most of his life, including Cape Codders for Peace and Justice, the Solarize Our Towns Campaign, Cape Care, and the Cape Organization for the Rights of the Disabled (CORD).
Peter ran for Congress as an Independent against Rep.
Delahunt in 2006 and received over 16,000 votes (about 6% of the total
votes cast). He has also run for Selectman and State Representative.
He and a partner bought the La Plaza Del Sol Motel in Mashpee in 2007.
The Motel became a member of the Green Hotels Association and has
undergone conservation and energy efficiency upgrades, and it has a
recycling program and a bioclear septic system. They also provide
short-term affordable housing for employees of local businesses and
those threatened with homelessness.
Peter is a member of the Board of Directors for the Mashpee Environmental Coalition and the Friends of the Mashpee Library, and he served on the Yarmouth Affordable Housing Committee and the Northfield, NH Planning Board.
Peter has a Master’s Degree in Community Economic
Development from New Hampshire College (now Southern NH University), and
a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Accounting from the University of
Massachusetts in Amherst. He has three great children, two in college
and one in public school on the Cape. Peter was raised in Springfield as
a Boy Scout and he is very patriotic.
